Alan's friendly banter

Created by william 2 years ago

We will always remember Alan for his very friendly manner towards us, along with Carol, of course!

He had that cheeky side too, and was always happy to tease me when his Arsenal team had done well (especially by beating Spurs).

We still think of our very happy days as next door neighbours to you both in Grovewood Hill. We often recall the first time we met and became friends, when Alan popped his head over the hedge on a Summer evening, and asked us to come round for a glass of wine. So started our near 40 years friendship.

I also recall with great sentiment the "ongoing competition" between Alan and I over who's lawn looked better. I still remember him cutting his grass at ten o'clock on a Friday night!! I think he had an ulterior motive in that he could spend all day Saturday at Woodcote golf course!!!

On this terribly sad occasion, we will be thinking of you both with love and affection remembering all the happy times we shared together, and that this friendship is still as close as ever today.

We are sending all our heartfelt love, and you will be in our thoughts on Thursday, and always.

All our love  Bill and Anna
